What! The Pope Got A Twitter?!
http://nyti.ms/RwBC81

Yes its true Pope Benedict XVI has a Twitter account as of Yesterday. Within hours, he had more than 250,000 followers. This was created to draw in the Roman Catholic Church's 1.2 billion followers, especially the young people. The Pope said he will not follow anyone for now, he will just be followed from others. His posts will go out in Arabic, English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, and spanish. The tweets will mostly be about content of his speeches, sunday blessings, major holidays, and reactions to major world events. Since the Pope is 85 years old he will not be conducting these tweets himself but have aides typing the tweets and him approving them. This just goes to show you Twitter is trending with the young and old now.

MTV was the first to experience how popular Twitter became over night. That night was the VMA music awards live, the the biggest night for MTV to make sure everything went according to plans. Little did MTV know that Beyonce and Jay Z had something up their own sleeve for the whole audience to see. At the end of the night Beyonce preformed her number one song at the time love on top. After the performance she ripped open her purple blazer and started to rub her belly indicating she was pregnant! The audience went wild and the people at home were tweeting away. 8,868 tweets a second, according to Twitter. This was a huge turning point for Twitter and since then Twitter has been there along the ride for many other things that have made history today.

Ex's On Twitter

Celebrities have been using Twitter a lot, mostly for endorsements, selling their product, or talking about their everyday life. But what happens when they suddenly have a fight with another celebrity? Rob Kardashian is a great example for this one. Just a couple of days ago Rob Kardashian was posting pictures and tweeting about how in love he is with Rita Ora. The only thing is everything Rob was tweeting about Rita positive he was tweeting just as much negative. Today I logged onto Twitter thinking I was going to see some funny and interesting tweets but to my surprise my whole Twitter news was Rob Kardashian tweeting disturbing and nasty things about Rita Ora cheating! I was shocked but so interested at the same time. Just think you did not need to wait till later that day or even the next day on TV to find out about their breakup, nope just log onto Twitter and Rob was willing to say it all. Thats the thing about social networks they can either make or break you. For Rita Ora this just broke her.

To become famous today you do not need to go to countless hours of auditions or drive miles away in hope of making it big. All you have to do is post a video on Youtube, its that easy. Two great examples of this are the heart throbbing Justin Bieber and rapper Soulja Boy. Biebs became so popular off Youtube by his mom posting one simple video of him singing for family and friends to see. Realizing how popular he was becoming she kept posting more and more videos not really knowing what it was going to lead to. At 12 years old Justin Bieber was discovered off Youtube by music producer Scooter Braun and became the most famous young singer to hit the pop culture world. Another great example of how YouTube became a doorway in becoming famous is how rapper Soulja Boy hit the Internet in 2004. Soulja made his own YouTube page trying to have people come across his talent. YouTube came through once again and he was founded by Atlanta producer Mr. Collipark. Soulja went on in winning a Grammy for best rap song just years later. YouTube has taken celebrity status to another level and now people like you and me can show our true talent for the world to see.
